ANU shares renewable energy expertise with Laos
Energy experts from the Australian National University (ANU) have delivered the first of a 5-week intensive course on renewable energy and electricity grid integration for Government of Lao PDR officials.
The first session was held 31 October 2022 in Vientiane, with representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and other relevant stakeholders.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr Dan Heldon, Deputy Head of the Australian Embassy and Dr Akhomdeth Vongsay, Director General, Department of Planning and Cooperation, Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Many of the ANU presenters joined online from Australia to deliver the course, which is part of wider Australian support to Laos’ clean energy transition.
The course follows a recent trip to Thailand to participate in the Future Energy Asia Summit in Bangkok and to exchange knowledge on renewable energy with both Thailand and Australia.
